Anonymous Chat: Stranger Connect is an adults-only (18+) service. We have zero
tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page
sets out the standards we enforce, the measures we currently have in place, and
how to report a concern to us.
Prohibited without exception
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — creating, sharing, requesting, or linking
to it, in any form, including AI-generated or computer-generated imagery.
Sexual solicitation of a minor, grooming, or sextortion.
Use of the service by anyone under 18, and any attempt by a user to arrange
contact with a minor.
Keeping minors off the platform
The app carries an adults-only (18+) content rating on Google Play.
A date-of-birth age gate is presented before an account can be created. An
under-18 date of birth is refused, and no account and no user record is created.
Accounts we identify as belonging to a person under 18 are terminated and
their data deleted.
Reporting and moderation
Every message, every shared image, and every active chat carries a one-tap
report control. Reporting also blocks the reported user immediately, so they
can never be matched with the reporter again.
Submitting a report captures an evidence snapshot of the conversation at the
moment of reporting, and places a hold on the images shared in that chat. This
preserves evidence ahead of the app's normal automatic deletion, so our
ephemeral-chat design never impedes an investigation.
Reports categorised as child safety are routed to a dedicated queue and
reviewed at the highest priority, ahead of every other report type.
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Anyone may report content or
behaviour to us, including people who do not use the app, by emailing the child
safety contact above. Reporters are never identified to the person they report.
Current limitation, stated plainly. We do not
currently apply automated CSAM detection or automated nudity classification to
every image before it is delivered. Images shared in a chat are delivered without
automated screening, and are reviewed by our moderation team when they are
reported. Restoring automated screening of all images before delivery — hash
matching against known-CSAM databases plus nudity classification — is an active
priority, and this page will be updated when that is in place. We would rather
state this accurately than overstate the protections in force.
Enforcement and escalation
Confirmed CSAE content or behaviour results in immediate and permanent
termination of the account. There is no warning step and no appeal for
confirmed CSAM.
Where CSAM is confirmed, we preserve the material and associated account data
as required by applicable law, including the preservation obligations under
18 U.S.C. §2258A, and do not delete it on our normal retention schedule.
We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing &
Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline, or to the relevant
authority in the applicable jurisdiction.
We cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests. Contact us at the child
safety address above.
Governance
We maintain a designated child safety point of contact, reachable at the
address above and registered with Google Play.
We review these standards at least annually, and whenever the app's safety
controls materially change.
We comply with the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and with
applicable CSAE reporting obligations in the jurisdictions where the app is
available.
How to report a child safety concern
In the app: long-press any message, tap the flag icon in the
chat app bar, or report directly from a shared image.
To authorities: you can report directly to NCMEC at
report.cybertip.org, or to your local
law enforcement. Reporting to us does not replace reporting to authorities.
